# Recording carbon emissions

You can record carbon emissions on your expense claim, depending on what category you select.

### To record carbon emissions in a claim

1. Once you’ve logged in, from your dashboard click **+ New expense** claim.
2. If you select a claim **category** that has been setup to record carbon emissions, additional fields will appear.

1. For vehicle journeys, when you enter a **Journey Start** and **End,** the **Actual Distance** and **CO2 emission** is automatically calculated.
2. Remember to attach any receipts, then click **Save**.
