# Reset a user's authentication

If one of your Cintra People users no longer has access to the mobile phone they use to access the system, you will need to reset their authentication.

To do this:

1. Select the **Payroll** tab.
2. In the side menu under **Settings**, select **Manage users**.
3. Select the appropriate tab, depending on whether they are an HR, Payroll, or Employee Hub user (some users can be in both tabs).
4. Select the user’s name.
5. Under **Authentication preferences**, you will see either *Authenticator App*, or the user’s mobile number.

1. To reset, select **Click here to reset the authentication setup**.
2. Once you have read the warning, turn on the **I have verified…** toggle.
3. Click **Save**.

The next time the user signs in, they will be asked to [set up MFA](/docs/setting-up-multi-factor-authentication-mfa) again.
