# Guide: Posts and post history

Within Cintra iQ, a job is given a title (for example, plumber). From this, any number of posts can be created based on that job, usually indicating where the post is located, such as Glasgow plumber or Edinburgh plumber.

Posts in Cintra iQ represent individual positions within your organisation. Each post is tied to a specific employee, job role, and contract details.

Post history captures every change made to a post over time, such as updates to salary, working patterns, or employee assignments. This allows you to track the full history of roles and ensure accurate payroll, reporting, and compliance.
