# How do I download HMRC notices?

**File by Internet (FBI)** allows **Cintra iQ** users to electronically download electronic notifications from **HMRC**. This functionality can save the user time and effort by automating the application of tax code changes and student loan notification.

## To download notices

1. Navigate to the **HMRC Form Processing** window. Go to **Cintra iQ**: Menu bar > Payroll > Payroll Tools > HMRC > File By Internet or Tool bar > FBI icon
2. Click the **Open FBI Mailbox** button in the bottom left-hand corner of the window. The (payroll) **File By Internet** window opens.
3. Select the **Inbox** option.
4. Click the **Receive** button above. The **Login Credentials** form to access **HMRC** appears.
5. Enter the **Login** (username) and **Password** credentials.
6. Download the notices.
7. Return to the **File By Internet** window within **Cintra iQ**. The **Incoming Forms** tab displays any notifications that have been downloaded from **HMRC**. **Cintra iQ** automatically attempts to match any notification from **HMRC** with an employee within **Cintra iQ**.

> [!NOTE]
> **Note:** In the cases when there is no available match, then you can manually match the records by using the Find and Match Employees button.
8. Continue to apply the tax code or **Student Loan** notifications to the **Cintra iQ** database by clicking the **Apply Matches to Database** button. Once this process is completed, all the tax code or **Student Loan** notifications will be applied to their respective employees. Future calculations of the Payroll will take into account the effective date of these tax codes/Student Loan orders and apply the necessary rates to the deductions on the payslips.
