Before assigning a workflow, ensure it has been created. See [Creating approval workflows](/payroll/docs/approval-workflows-1). ### **Assigning a workflow to a single category** 1. Go to **Setup > Categories**. 2. Click the **Edit** icon on the relevant category record. 3. Select the applicable workflow from the **Approval Flow** dropdown, then click **Save**. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/fc2cda72-4645-4b36-96bf-60439ec11f11/Images/Documentation/image-PP7RER79.png) ### **Assigning workflows to multiple categories in bulk** 1. Go to **Setup > Categories**. 2. Select **Export** from the **Actions** menu, ensure **Include data** is selected, and click **Download**. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/fc2cda72-4645-4b36-96bf-60439ec11f11/Images/Documentation/image(373).png) ![](https://cdn.document360.io/fc2cda72-4645-4b36-96bf-60439ec11f11/Images/Documentation/image-IVMUJNRF.png) 1.
