# Exporting claim records

The Accounting area lets you export claim records for processing in your finance system. Exported files include VAT data, making them suitable for reconciliation and VAT purposes.

**To export claim records:**

1. Select **Accounting** in the sidebar. The **Claims** tab appears.
2. Select the claim records you want to export.
3. Click **Export** in the side menu.

1. In the Export pane, choose the **Export Format** you need.
2. Enter a **Reference** name to identify this export.
3. Click **Export**. The file downloads as a **.zip** archive and a confirmation message appears.

> **Note**: When you update claim records, they move from the **Claims** tab to Archive and are marked as complete.
