# Deductions and loans (June 2026)

## Manage employee deductions and loans in Cintra People Payroll

We've added a new Deductions & Loans tab to the employee profile in Cintra People Payroll. Authorised users can now view, add, edit, and delete voluntary deductions and employee loans without leaving Cintra People, keeping day-to-day payroll tasks in one place.

### What's new?

#### Deductions & Loans tab

A new tab is available when you edit an employee in Cintra People Payroll. It contains two sub-tabs: Voluntary Deductions and Loans.

#### Voluntary deductions

- **View and manage deductions**: See all voluntary deductions applied to an employee and add, edit, or delete them from a single list.
- **Guided setup**: Add a deduction using a 3-step wizard, with built-in validation and the option to use a standard heading amount or enter a custom value.
- **Safe editing**: Delete deductions not yet processed, or end-date those that have been, to preserve payroll history.

### Loans

- **View and manage loans**: See all loans held by an employee, each showing the deduction heading, loan reference, and a live outstanding balance.
- **Guided setup**: Add a loan in a few simple steps, and attach repayment schedules, adding new schedule entries over time as amounts change.
- **Audit trail**: All changes are tracked, including who made them and when.

### Key benefits

- **Less switching, more doing**: Manage voluntary deductions and loans entirely within Cintra People Payroll.
- **Fewer errors**: Guided wizards, built-in validation, and a live outstanding balance calculation reduce the risk of data entry mistakes.
- **Everything in one place**: Deductions, loans, and repayment schedules are all visible and manageable from the employee profile.
- **Payroll stays accurate**: Changes sync with the payroll calculation engine automatically, and corrections flow through to the next pay run where applicable.
