Where Do I Assign Cost Codes to Employees/Posts?

You can mirror your company cost code structure with Cintra iQ. Once this is done, you can set up rules and provide input data so that your costs and liabilities can be analysed accurately, according to your company management accounting requirements. Cintra iQ contains multiple areas to set up Cost Codes for employees. You can assign an employee a default cost analysis code ie dev, imp, sup. eg Yoko's default cost centre is DEV.

This process can also apply to those employees who are new starters or have moved departments, and can be done on a day to day basis.

Within Cintra iQ, you can assign the cost code to an employee in the following areas:
  1. Employment record> Forms> Department/Costing
    This can be done when you are setting up the employment record. Each employee can hold a default code or set of codes by percentage in the Department/Costing form.
  1. Employment record>Forms> Post History
    Note: If you use Posts, you may hold default codes against an employee in a Post.
  1. Posts> Post Summary
    If you use Posts, you may hold default codes for the Post.
  1. Payroll> Payroll Setup> Accounting> Account Mappings
    This is how analysis codes and account codes are picked up and put against an employee's pay during the Journal extract.
