If an employee cancels an approved Holiday Request within Self-Service, you as the manager must approve the cancellation. The process of approving a cancellation is the same process as approving/rejecting a request.
To approve a cancellation request
Sign in to Self-Service.
Navigate to the Manage Holiday Bookings page, by clicking the Holiday Approvals menu option under Management.
From the Employee drop-down list, select the employee you wish to view. Any associated Holiday Request records appear.
Navigate to correct Month in the Team calendar.
Click the Holiday Request colour-coded Cancellation Request. The Edit Holiday Booking form appears.
Review the request and if you are satisfied, click the Approve Cancellation button. The Confirm button appears.
If you don’t want to cancel, click the Reject Cancellation button.
Click the Confirm button. Once confirmed, the request record is removed from the Manager’s Team Calendar, Calendar and Approvals views.
The request record is moved from the employee’s Calendar and Team calendar views.
To approve a holiday request quickly
Depending on how your system is configured, once an employee has booked time off, Self-Service notifies you by email that the request needs to be approved. Although you can approve/reject a request in Approvals, Calendar or Team calendar, it is quicker to do so from Approvals.
If you create your own Holiday Request or a request on behalf of an employee, it is automatically approved if you are the sole manager. Otherwise, the request must go through tiered approval. The submitted or cancelled requests that come through the Holiday module must be approved in order to keep track of an employee’s history of absences.
Sign in to Self-Service.
Navigate to the Manage Holiday Booking page, by clicking the Holiday Approvals menu option under Management.
Highlight the desired Holiday Request in Approvals.
Click the desired check box in the Approve/Reject column.
Click the Submit Requests button. The following occurs:
The request record in the Approvals view has changed to Approved Booking.
The Calendar and Team calendar are updated accordingly.
The date in the employee's Calendar and Team calendar is now colour coded to reflect the status: Approved Booking.
