Tags are a flexible way to classify users and expense categories according to your organisation's structure. You define the tag type (such as department, location, legal entity, or cost centre) and then create values within it to represent the specific groups or codes your business uses.
How tags work
Each tag has one or more values. For example, a tag named "Department" might have values such as "Finance", "Sales", and "Engineering". Once a tag and its values are set up, you assign them to users and categories. When a user raises an expense claim, the relevant tag values are automatically applied, giving Finance a consistent set of data to work with across all claims.
Video: What is a tag?
These videos were recorded in Capture Expense. Some screens and labels may look slightly different in Expenses, but the steps remain the same.
Access tags
As an administrator, go to Setup > Tags.
The number in the records column indicates how many values each tag has.
