Importing and exporting tags

You can import tag values in bulk using a CSV template downloaded from Capture Expense. You can also export your existing tag data for reporting purposes.

Downloading the import template

  1. Go to Setup > Tags.

  2. Select Export from the Actions menu.

  1. Deselect Include data and click Download. A blank CSV template is downloaded containing the required column headers.

Completing the template

Open the downloaded file and add your tag values into the following columns:

  • Type: the name of the tag, for example Department.

  • Code: a short code for the value, for example MKT.

  • Analysis Segment: an accounting code, if applicable.

  • Name: the full name of the value, e.g. Marketing.

Do not edit the Type Id (Edit Only) or Tag Id (Edit Only) columns.

Importing tag data

  1. Go to Setup > Tags.

  2. Select Import from the Actions menu

  3. Click Find File and select your completed CSV file.

  4. Click Import. A confirmation message appears and the tag values are added to Capture Expense.

Exporting existing tag data

  1. Go to Setup > Tags.

  2. Select Export from the Actions menu.

  3. Ensure Include data is selected and click Download. Your tag data is exported as a CSV file.
