Overview of HR functionality

This article gives you a high-level overview of what Cintra People HR does and where to start, whether you're completely new to Cintra People, or if you have a payroll background.

What does the HR system do?

Cintra People HR manages everything about your employees beyond payroll. This includes:

Employee records and organisation. Keep all employee information in one place. Organise employees into teams, departments, and locations. Track job history, qualifications, and documents.

Leave and absence. Manage holiday requests, sickness absence, and other types of leave. Set up approval workflows and track absence patterns.

Due to their importance and integration with the Payroll side of Cintra People HR, both Employees and Leave can be found in their own top-level sections of the help. The rest of the HR areas below can be found within the HR category.

Other HR areas include:

  • Performance and development. Set goals, conduct reviews, and track employee development. Manage probation periods and performance improvement plans.

  • Onboarding and offboarding. Create structured onboarding experiences for new starters. Manage the leaver process with checklists and handover tasks.

  • Time and attendance. Track working hours, clock in and out, and manage timesheets. Monitor overtime and time off in lieu.

  • Company documents and policies. Store and share company handbooks, policies, and procedures. Track which employees have read and acknowledged key documents.

  • Employee engagement and culture. Run surveys, gather feedback, and recognise employee achievements. Build and maintain your organisational culture.

  • Reporting and compliance. Run reports on your workforce. Track mandatory training, right to work documents, and compliance deadlines.
