This page lists some common problems you may be experiencing with using reports and dashboards in Cintra People. Click any question to expand/collapse.
Permissions and access
Why can't I see a specific Payroll report or dashboard?
Your user type and permissions determine what you can see and do in Cintra People. For example, if you didn't have permission to view a list of employees, you would not be able to access any of the employee reports either.
Why can't I edit or share a specific Payroll report?
Only users with full payroll access can share customised reports within their organisation.
Can other users edit a report I've shared?
It depends on their permissions. Users with Payroll Full Access will be able to edit a shared report. Users with more restricted permissions will be able to view and run it, but not edit it.
Custom reports and sharing
Will my changes to a report affect the original standard report?
No. When you customise a standard report, you are creating a copy. The original report remains unchanged. Your version is saved separately under Custom Reports.
Where can I find reports I've created?
Go to Reports > Custom Reports from the left-hand navigation menu.
Can I share a report I've created with other users in my organisation?
Yes. When saving a template, toggle Share with Organisation on. Other users will see the report the next time they log in. You can also change this setting at any time by clicking the pencil (edit) icon next to your report in the Custom Reports list.
Why can't I see the "More Columns" button on some reports?
Not all reports support additional columns. Where the button is absent, the data structure of that report is too complex to join onto other datasets. This is intentional — not a bug.
Grouping, pivoting, and aggregation
Is grouping the same as rows in a pivot table?
Yes. The Row Groups functionality in People Payroll is very similar to the Rows area in an Excel pivot table. The tool follows a familiar columns / rows / values structure.
Can I change how values are aggregated (e.g. show an average instead of a sum)?
Yes. In the Values area of the right-hand panel, click on a field to change its aggregation method. Options include Sum, Min, Max, Average, and Count.
Can I export a pivoted report to Excel?
Yes. When you export, all configurations, including pivot structure and groupings, are carried through into the Excel file.
Report types and Cintra iQ integration
What's the difference between a published report and a report pack?
Published reports are generated in Cintra iQ for individual export in Cintra People. Report packs are custom collections of reports that you can create in Cintra People.
Can I bring IQ reports into the Custom Reports section in People Payroll?
IQ reports won't appear automatically. They will only display in Cintra People Payroll if they have been published from Cintra IQ to Cintra People Payroll.
Data safety and support
Can I break anything by experimenting with reports?
No. The reporting tool is read-only in terms of your payroll data. You can create, modify, and delete your own report templates freely without any risk to underlying data.
Where can I find training materials and help guides?
This help site is the primary reference point for how-to guides and documentation. If you have a specific question or need additional support, reach out directly to the product team. Feedback on gaps in the help content is always welcome.
