Getting started with reports and dashboards

Prev Next

Reports give you full control over how payroll data is displayed. You decide what data you see and how it's presented, and you can report on either a single or multiple payrolls within your organisation.

Dashboards provide a high-level visual summary of your data within Cintra People. Most of the widgets in a dashboard will open a more detailed report.

Reports

Live reports

If you've previously used Cintra iQ, you'll be familiar with published reports - static snapshots of data captured at a specific time. While these are still available, Cintra People can also present you with live reports.

  • These are built directly from real-time payroll data.

  • You can customise them on the fly: change columns, apply filters, group data, and sort results.

  • You can also report on multiple payrolls from the same screen.

  • Ideal for day-to-day analysis, troubleshooting, or checking current payroll status.

You can view a list and description of all the payroll reports in Cintra People.

Published reports

Published reports are created in Cintra iQ:

  • These are saved versions of reports that reflect the data at the time they were generated.

  • They’re useful for audits, approvals, or sharing consistent snapshots with other teams.

  • Related reports are often collated into a single report pack that you can download as a zip file.

  • Once published, the data doesn’t update: it remains a static reference point.

Report packs

Report packs with live data are now available in Cintra People:

  • As with report packs from Cintra iQ, these are collections of related reports that you can view and export.

  • Unlike Cintra iQ, these reports contain live data when you view them in Cintra People, and can be viewed in a single spreadsheet.

  • For more information, see Report packs.

Customising and saving your reports

Cintra People offers a variety of options to customise your reports so you can display exactly the information you need. To save time, you can save these customisations and even share them with colleagues. For more information, see Saving and Sharing Reports.

Dashboards

Dashboards give you a visual overview of payroll data in Cintra People. They’re designed to help you monitor trends, spot issues, and get quick insights at a glance - without needing to set anything up.

Dashboard Terminology

Dashboards in Cintra People contain a series of widgets, which show charts, tables, and summary information about your payroll data. For example, the Total costs widget of the Payroll Summary dashboard displays the headline total, breakdown of costs, a comparison with the previous period, and a link to open a report with more detailed information.

As Cintra People evolves, we'll be adding new customisation features to dashboards.

Accessing Dashboards

Currently, there is one dashboard available in Cintra People: the Payroll Summary dashboard.
