Authentication and passkeys

Prev Next

I've forgotten my password. What should I do?

  1. Go to cintra.cloud.

  2. Enter your email address, then click Continue.

  3. Click FORGOT YOUR PASSWORD.

  4. Enter your email address again, then click Continue.

  5. If a matching account is found, you will receive an email with a link to reset your password.

I've lost, damaged, or replaced my mobile phone. What should I do?

Speak to the Cintra People administrator in your organisation. Cintra cannot reset your password or authentication details. Once your authentication has been reset, you will be prompted to set it up again next time you log in.

If you are an administrator, see Reset a user’s authentication.

I've already set a passkey. How does this work with MFA?

You can still use your passcode to log in as before (providing you are using your usual device). However, if you reset your preferences or log in from a different device, you will be given the choice to authenticate via an authenticator app or SMS. For more information on passkeys, see Setting up and using passkeys.

Can I have more than one passkey?

  • Yes! If you access Cintra People from more than one device (e.g. at work and on a mobile phone), you can set up a passkey for each device.

What is the difference between MFA and passkeys?

  • MFA (multi-factor authentication) uses more than one source to verify your identity (e.g. a password and a code sent to your phone) . ALL users must set this up before they can access Cintra People.

  • However, once this has been setup, you can speed up the second step of MFA (i.e. which requires you to use your phone) by entering a passkey instead.
