Guide: Leave profiles

Prev Next

Important!

Work profiles have been renamed as leave profiles. The working rota functionality previously configured here has moved to the new work patterns feature; everything relating to leave, sickness, and entitlements remains unchanged and stays in leave profiles. See Guide: Work patterns for the new feature, or Guide: Leave profiles for what's changed.

Renamed from work profiles to leave profiles

If you've used work profiles before, leave profiles is the same feature, but focusing on leave and renamed.

Work profiles previously covered two distinct things in one place: leave settings (entitlements, sickness, carry over) and the working rota (which days and hours an employee works). These have now split into two separate features. The leave part hasn't changed, and is now called leave profiles. The working rota part has moved out entirely and become the new work patterns feature, with more flexibility than before. See Guide: Work patterns for the new feature.

Nothing about how you configure entitlements, sickness, or carry over has changed. Only its name, and the fact that working rota settings now live elsewhere.

What is a leave profile?

A leave profile defines entitlements for a group of employees: annual leave, sickness, and TOIL, along with rules for carry over, maximum carry over, and how much allowance can be exceeded. It also controls length of service rules and pro-rata rounding for employees who don't work a full year or full week.

How leave profiles fit together

The following articles explain what you can do with leave profiles:
